Well, it's been awhile. The band trip to So Cal is over and they not only had an awesome time, they came back with hardware. Various trophies and plaques for Best Band, Judge's favorite, Gold award for 1st place in their division and a top soloist for one of the trumpet players. There was also an invitation to a competion next spring in Boston, but finances and lack of returning band members may keep them from going there. Just have to wait and see. I'm definitely chaperoning that one if they go.

Here is the other kid in our house. Duke. I need to add this because right now he is staring at me,wanting me to get his Flossie from it's hiding place on top of the refrigerator. Better go do that NOW.

This may not be the most flattering picture but I love it. This was at the practice session prior to Tuba Christmas at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland. His friend and fellow Tuba Hero, Adam, took it. As you can see he is surrounded by several other tubas. It was an amazing event that I will remember always. Will plans to do this again.

My title.

This blog will focus primarily on keeping track of my son's life for the next 15 months until he graduates from high school. Things are happening at a pretty fast rate and I hope to keep up. It could be difficult. To catch up, right now he is almost 75% through his junior year at Washougal High School. Academically he is loving Jr. English, but not so much Chemistry, 3rd year German and US History (he actually loves this class, but just doesn't want to do the homework). Band, Jazz, and Team Sports are his favorites, but that's a given. In 6 weeks he is traveling to So Cal with the Wind Ensemble to perform at the Heritage Music Festival at Fullerton College. And, of course, hang with Mickey and the gang. Baseball season is just beginning. He is the starting catcher for the WHS varsity squad for the 2nd year in a row. Now I am going to stop my rambling and attempt to add a picture or two. Hopefully this works.
